“ROSE LOTUS” Exhibition
The story of “Z CHAN,” featuring Little Z, a Z-grade superhero who emerged from another dimension to save the world from destruction, has been the theme of the artist’s works for over 40 years.
This time, the exhibition is a solo show held simultaneously at two separate space.
The exhibition title “ROSE LOTUS” symbolizes the connection between two worlds of different dimensions: ROSE HEAVEN and LOTUS HEAVEN. It suggests ideas of super-sensory recognition, the possibilities of simulation theory, and quantum worlds.
From the story of “Z CHAN”
One day in Lotus Heaven, the world where Z CHAN and the BLUE MOUSE live, a girl who got lost on her way shopping is guided by a mysterious being named KATO and arrives in this magical place.
ROSE is a girl raised in ROSE HEAVEN (Material World) who loves shopping. She falls in love with the enchanting LOTUS HEAVEN (Spiritual World), befriends Z CHAN and others, and enjoys her days there.
Later, a teddy bear named VANROGH, who came from the “invisible world,” joins their carefree life.
However, the time eventually comes for ROSE to return to ROSE HEAVEN, where her parents await her.
Saddened by the farewell with Z CHAN and others, ROSE hears Furukawa (A Flower) gently whisper to her:“Even if you return to the real world, as long as you never forget this world and keep it in your heart, someday the two worlds will connect again, and you’ll see everyone once more.”
ROSE SIDE
At the Jingumae space, works created in 2024, focusing on ROSE and VANROGH, will be on display.
LOTUS SIDE
At the Odaiba space, a simple mix of both new and old works will be presented, including installations.
※ Pins and T-shirts are also available for purchase at the space.
