Shun Art Gallery is pleased to present works by two Japanese artists, Yuki Matsueda and YUUM, at Art TAIPEI in Taipei.

Yuki Matsueda is a contemporary artist known for his innovative works that playfully transcend the boundaries between two and three dimensions. Using familiar everyday motifs such as emergency exit signs, eggs, and playing cards, Matsueda creates the illusion of objects breaking free from their frames. His works challenge our conventional perceptions, inviting viewers into a world of surprise and humor.

YUUM, on the other hand, explores the complexities of human emotions and the subtle contradictions of everyday life through her original character, “SHE.” Beneath the vibrant colors and charming imagery lie delicate emotions and a sharp perspective on contemporary society. Her distinctive artistic universe, often described as “adorably rebellious,” invites viewers to look beyond the surface and reflect on the questions embedded within her work.

Although their artistic approaches differ, both artists share a unique ability to reinterpret the familiar and reveal unexpected perspectives on everyday life.

We invite you to discover their playful creativity, surprising expressions, and the rich narratives that unfold beyond the surface of their works.
